David Kordansky Gallery in Los Angeles is showing Control X, an exhibition of new paintings and video animations by Tala Madani, from 18 September to 24 October 2026 at 5130 W. Edgewood Place. The works trace the fine line between making and destroying across art, language, history and human relationships, with new series including mountain portraits that inflate failed portraiture into sublime landscape. The show also features Alphabet City, a new animation about how linguistic structures can turn violent, with music composed by the artist's husband Nathaniel Mellors — their first collaboration.
