Sámi Artist Network Dáiddadállu Wins 2026 MUNCH Award for Defending Free Expression

The Sámi artist network Dáiddadállu has been named the third recipient of the MUNCH Award, the prize given by Munch in Oslo to honor artistic freedom of expression. The 22-member network receives NOK 300,000 (about £23,600). The award recognizes work carried out under increasing political and social pressure; Dáiddadállu has been active in defending Sámi land rights and cultural visibility. The prize places the social role of art and free expression at its center.
