Christie's has announced the highlights of its October 15 Jewels Online auction in New York, with an 8.17-carat diamond ring taking center stage. The stone, a round brilliant-cut diamond of D color and internally flawless clarity, carries a presale estimate of up to $350,000 and will be offered without reserve. The digital auction comprises more than 260 lots drawn from well-known jewelry houses alongside standalone diamonds. Other standouts include a Graff ring set with a 7.85-carat square emerald-cut diamond of D color and VS1 clarity, estimated at $180,000 to $280,000, and a Van Cleef & Arpels ring with a 5.22-carat emerald-cut diamond embellished with roughly 2.60 carats of pear and round diamonds, estimated at $150,000 to $250,000. Necklaces feature prominently among the top offerings. One riviere necklace strings together 67 pear brilliant-cut diamonds ranging from 0.50 to 2.47 carats, all of D color and internally flawless to VVS1 clarity, while a second riviere features 53 emerald-cut diamonds of G to I color. Both are estimated between $130,000 and $250,000. The sale also includes a 6.52-carat heart brilliant-cut diamond ring, an unmounted 5.34-carat pear-shaped D-color diamond, and a mid-century Cartier ring with a 5-carat emerald-cut diamond. The fully online format continues the houses' push to widen access to high-value jewels beyond the traditional saleroom. The no-reserve status of the headline diamond is a deliberate draw: without a reserve, the stone is guaranteed to sell regardless of how high bidding climbs, a structure designed to pull in both seasoned jewel collectors and newer buyers who have entered the market through online channels. With the marquee November jewelry sales still weeks away, the October 15 digital auction also functions as an early read on how aggressively collectors will pursue top-quality white diamonds in the autumn season.
