£70,000 top estimate: Dame Joan Collins's Dynasty-era jewels head to Bonhams
Five jewels from Dame Joan Collins, led by a 60.50-carat diamond necklace bought in 1985 at the height of Dynasty, will be offered in Bonhams' London Jewels sale on 12 November 2026, estimated at £50,000-70,000.

Five jewels from the collection of Dame Joan Collins will be offered in Bonhams' London Jewels sale on Thursday 12 November 2026. The group leads with a diamond necklace assembled from brilliant-cut, marquise-cut and stepped diamonds totalling about 60.50 carats, which the actress bought in 1985, at the height of the television series Dynasty, in which she played Alexis. It carries an estimate of £50,000 to £70,000.
The necklace captures the glamour of the period in which Collins became a global star. Her performance as Alexis won her a Golden Globe and defined the high-shine style of 1980s prime-time drama, and the jewels offered here come directly from that era of her career.
The remaining pieces extend the same story. The sale also includes a pair of pendant earrings set with rubies and diamonds, and a brooch by Van Cleef & Arpels dating from around 1930. Together the five lots form a small, tightly focused group drawn from one famous wardrobe rather than a broad estate dispersal.
Celebrity provenance has become a reliable draw in the London jewellery calendar, and Bonhams has timed the offering for the run-up to the Christmas season. The pieces will be sold in London on 12 November. The necklace itself was bought in 1985, when Dynasty was at its peak and Collins, as Alexis, was one of the most photographed women on television. Its mix of brilliant-cut, marquise-cut and stepped diamonds, totalling about 60.50 carats, is characteristic of the bold, high-shine jewellery of that decade, while the circa-1930 Van Cleef & Arpels brooch reaches back to an earlier era of Parisian jewellery design.
