V&A Hosts Bharti Kher for South Asian Creatives Panel This Saturday
Bharti Kher leads a panel titled "Insights from South Asian Creatives" at V&A South Kensington on Saturday 17 October at 11am, joined by Sophia Green and DJ Ritu — a conversation that extends her four-sculpture display at the museum, on view through 24 January 2027.

The V&A hosts a morning panel with Bharti Kher this Saturday, 17 October, at 11am, under the title "Insights from South Asian Creatives." Kher will be joined by artist Sophia Green and DJ Ritu, according to Perrotin's London Art Week newsletter, which flagged the conversation as its Frieze-week pick for Kher's work on view in London.
The talk extends Kher's ongoing display at V&A South Kensington, where four of her sculptures are installed among the museum's historic collections through 24 January 2027. The anchor is Gaia (2026), a four-metre bronze unveiled this summer in the Exhibition Road Courtyard — the first new monumental commission on that site by the artist. Inside, Ghost (2024), Animus Mundi (2018) and Warrior with Cloak and Shield (2008) are woven into the Dorothy and Michael Hintze Sculpture Galleries, set in direct conversation with the V&A's classical holdings.
Kher, who works between London and New Delhi, has spent three decades building a sculptural language out of hybrid bodies, mythological fragments and materials drawn from South Asian visual culture — saris, bindis, cast bodies and found objects. The V&A display stages that vocabulary against European sculptural tradition, letting two systems of making collide in the same galleries.
The panel folds Kher's practice into a wider Frieze-week conversation about South Asian creativity in the British art world, with three women from different disciplines — sculpture, painting and music — talking about their work and careers. The V&A lists it as a special event at South Kensington; the museum's what's-on page confirms the Saturday date.
