The Baltimore Museum of Art opened Jerrell Gibbs: Come home with me on September 16, 2026, a major solo exhibition for the Baltimore-based painter. About 30 paintings inspired by Gibbs's childhood, family and friends celebrate Black family life and the idea of home, centered on the house of his Aunt Ella. The show runs through May 2, 2027, and is curated by Antoinette Roberts. Director Asma Naeem described it as both an intimate view into the artist's world and an ode to home and community. For Gibbs, who earned his MFA at MICA, the exhibition is a hometown milestone.
