The Asian Art Biennial has announced the full list of participating artists for its tenth edition, which will take place at the National Taiwan Museum of Fine Arts (NTMoFA) from 7 November to 28 February. The exhibition is curated by Lu Pei-Yi under the title 'Mrahul Tminun · 共織 · Co-Weaving'. The curatorial framework takes weaving as its methodology, using the interlacing of threads as a model for presenting Asia as an interconnected relational field. The edition aims to address the region's multiple, overlapping colonial histories through practices that foreground entanglement, repair and exchange rather than fixed national narratives. The roster brings together artists and collectives from across the region, including Irwan Ahmett & Tita Salina, Mounira Al Solh, Sheba Chhachhi & Janet Price, the DAVRA Collective, Cian Dayrit, Gudskul, Hou I-Ting, Aziza Kadyri, Kuo Yu-Ping, Lee Kai Chung & Shen Jun, Meita Meilita, Pallavi Paul, Citra Sasmita, Yamanaka Suplex, Yee I-Lann and the Womanifesto collective, among others. The strong presence of artist-run and collaborative structures underscores the biennial's interest in collective, community-rooted and socially engaged art practice. Founded in 2007, the Asian Art Biennial has become one of the region's key recurring survey exhibitions, alternating with other major Asian biennials as a platform where contemporary practices from across the continent are brought into dialogue. The tenth edition runs from 7 November through 28 February, and its emphasis on weaving as both craft and concept continues a recent curatorial trend in the region toward materiality, labour and Indigenous knowledge systems.
