The Asia Art Archive's annual fundraiser returns on 22 October, putting more than 50 works up for auction online and in person. The works have been generously donated by artists, galleries and private individuals, and the proceeds will support the archive's work in preserving and sharing art histories from the region.

Highlights of this year's sale include works by Salima Hashmi, Chen Qingqing, Christopher K. Ho, Donny Cheng, Huang Rui, Mok Yat-san, Qiu Xiaofei, Ashmina Ranjit, Anju Dodiya, Jakkai Siributr, Wong Sze Wai, Xu Bing, Young-Hae Chang, Heavy Industries, Yu Peng and others. The line-up spans generations and geographies, reflecting the archive's broad remit.

The Asia Art Archive is a Hong Kong-based independent non-profit, founded in response to the urgent need to document and make accessible the multiple recent histories of art in the region. With an archive of more than 140,000 records, it holds one of the most valuable publicly available collections of material on art, in its onsite library and on its website.

The organisation works through research, residency and educational programmes, with the goal of expanding knowledge and ensuring that these histories remain accessible for generations. Its annual fundraiser is the main moment when the collecting community directly sustains that mission.

In a year when cultural institutions across the region face funding pressure, the auction doubles as a barometer of the market's appetite for philanthropy. The breadth of the donated works – from established names to mid-career figures – suggests the archive's cause continues to command wide support.
