The exhibition traces Aphrodite from her origins in the eastern Mediterranean through the Greek and Roman worlds, Renaissance Europe and into contemporary culture. Highlights include the Crouching Aphrodite from the Royal Collection, a Capitoline Venus lent by the Louvre, Botticelli's Venus from Berlin, modern works by Yves Klein and Michelangelo Pistoletto, and a Loewe gown worn by Beyoncé. A recreation of an Aphrodite sanctuary will use exceptional loans from Cyprus alongside the museum's own copper-alloy figurine from around 1200 BCE, among the oldest objects in the show. The exhibition runs from 8 October 2026 to 11 April 2027.
