The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles has appointed Jonathan Abbott, the former president and CEO of public media company GBH, as its director and CEO. He succeeds interim director Ann Goldstein, who had led the museum since August 2025.

The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles has named Jonathan Abbott as its new CEO and director following an international search by the board of trustees. Abbott spent fifteen years as president and CEO of GBH, the largest producer of content for PBS, from 2007 to 2022, where he led a $215 million fundraising campaign and the organisation's digital transformation. He succeeds Ann Goldstein, who served as interim director from August 2025. In a statement, Abbott said he wants to help bring broader support and audiences to work that is urgent and thought-provoking.
