The National Gallery's upcoming Renoir and Love exhibition has broken the institution's box office records, with 22,033 tickets booked ahead of its opening on 3 October 2026. The figure surpasses the previous record of 15,654 tickets set over the same pre-opening period by the 2024 blockbuster Van Gogh: Poets and Lovers. The show, organised with the Musée d'Orsay in Paris and the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, brings 45 works to London for what is billed as the most significant UK exhibition of the French Impressionist's work in 20 years. It is the first exhibition devoted to Renoir at the National Gallery since 2007 and focuses on the mid-1860s to the mid-1880s, with highlights including Dance at the Moulin de la Galette (1876), shown in the UK for the first time. The exhibition runs to 31 January 2027 and follows a Paris run at the Musée d'Orsay that ranked among that museum's most visited exhibitions.
