Doha's second Art Basel Qatar will be a slightly smaller but substantially reshaped fair. Organisers have named 82 galleries from 37 countries and territories for the edition running January 28 to 30, 2027, with invitation-only previews on January 26 and 27, staged across Msheireb Downtown Doha at the M7 building and the Doha Design District as well as public sites nearby.

Every gallery will mount a solo presentation by a single artist, all responding to a shared curatorial theme, rendered in English and Arabic as between. The theme was devised by Iraqi curator Wassan Al-Khudhairi, the fair's artistic director, working with Art Basel's chief artistic officer and global director of fairs, Vincenzo de Bellis. Al-Khudhairi frames the in-between as a space where different perspectives, histories and ideas meet and new ways of seeing can emerge.

The regional emphasis remains central. Roughly half of the artists on show come from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia region, and more than a third of the participating galleries run spaces there. Over 30 galleries are joining the fair for the first time, among them Pilar Corrias of London, Silverlens of Manila and New York, and Isla Flotante of Buenos Aires and Sao Paulo.

The list also shows heavy turnover from the inaugural edition, which featured 87 galleries. Around 35 exhibitors are not returning, including major international names such as Hauser and Wirth and Pace, while the fair is adding a year-round programme of collector events, workshops and collection visits under a Collectors Majlis banner to sustain momentum between editions.
