Anne Tallentire Returns to Hollybush Gardens with 'Begin beginning'
Anne Tallentire presents new work in 'Begin beginning' at Hollybush Gardens, London, on view 13 November to 19 December 2026, alongside a group show she invited, 'In Relation...'.
Anne Tallentire returns to Hollybush Gardens with 'Begin beginning', a solo exhibition of new work on view from 13 November to 19 December 2026. The London gallery, at 1-2 Warner Yard, opens the show with a preview on Thursday 12 November from 6 to 8pm. The gallery is open Wednesday to Saturday, 11am to 6pm.
Tallentire works with modest, everyday materials, assembling them into precise, quietly charged arrangements. A work illustrated in the gallery's announcement, 'Still this interval [series 1-I]' (2026), is made from MDF, acid-free paper, magnets, metal and tape, and measures just 42 by 29.7 by 7.5 centimetres. The small scale is characteristic: her sculptures and wall works ask for close looking, rewarding attention to intervals, edges and the spaces between things. The gallery's announcement illustrates the show with that work, photographed by Eva Herzog.
The exhibition's title suggests a fresh start, and the timing places it among the gallery's closing shows of the year. Tallentire has shown with Hollybush Gardens for many years, and this presentation continues a long relationship between the artist and the gallery: previous solo exhibitions there include 'As happens' in 2020 and 'As Far As' in 2016, alongside appearances in group shows such as 'An Insular Rococo' in 2022.
Running alongside the solo show, in the same space and on the same dates, is 'In Relation...', a group exhibition Tallentire herself invited. The pairing makes the two presentations a single occasion: one room for the artist's own new work, another for the practices she wanted to bring into conversation with it.
